Usain Bolt of the robot world – Cassie has set a new Guinness World Record

Cassie robot

A robot named Cassie has set a new Guinness World Record for the 100M long-distance race. It took only 24.73 seconds and the average speed was 4ms-¹ (14.4Kmh-¹).

This was a very slow run compared to the record held by Bolt (9.58s). The important thing here is that a bipedal robot has achieved this feat by running as humans run. The robot was designed by engineers at Oregon State University (OSU) and is manufactured by OSU – Spinout Agility Robotics. This robot is capable of not only walking, and climbing stairs but also picking up small parcels and carrying them around.

Cassie's creators state that the robot's standing and standing were more difficult than the running part. However, it must be mentioned that this is an important milestone in the progress of robotics.
