Apple has officially announced the release date of iOS 16 and new features

iOS 16

Since the announcement of iOS 16 at WWDC 2022 held in June, Apple has released 8 developer beta editions and 6 public beta editions. While Apple did not announce the release date of the iOS 16 version to all users globally during the iPhone 14 launch yesterday, it has been mentioned in the blog post for the iPhone 14 model that it will be released on Monday(Sep 12) next week. As before, this will be a free software update.

The iOS 16 edition has not changed much in the UI, instead many features that have been requested by the users have been included. Apple has worked to include widgets on the iOS lock screen, improvements to notifications, and many other new features. It also includes many new security and privacy features.

The new iOS 16 is revealed with many unimaginable changes

Apple has officially released information about the iOS 16 edition. They introduced the iOS 16 edition, which is very different from the iOS editions released up to the iOS 15 edition. It was a surprising thing for us, Android workers, that Apple is working to provide more customization capabilities than usual through the iOS 16 edition.

iOS 16 features

The introduction of iOS 16 was done by Craig Federighi and he said at the beginning that this time we will provide the biggest update for the iOS lock screen, and through it, we will provide many facilities to the users.

"The biggest update ever to the lock screen, completely reimagining how it looks and how it works for you."

Through the iOS 16 edition, widgets can be added to the iPhone's lock screen and Apple has worked to provide the ability to make major changes using the depth of field of the background image included in the lock screen.

Another facility provided for the lock screen is the ability to change the font on the clock according to the user's wishes. Accordingly, they have provided facilities to change the style of the font as well as its color.

Also, a new Wallpaper Gallery was introduced through iOS 16, through which iPhone users have the ability to choose a large number of wallpapers according to their wishes.

In addition to this, Apple has worked to provide some new lock screen unlocking animations with iOS 16.

Another major change made in the lock screen through iOS 16 is the Live Notification feature. The ability to exchange information live through notifications has been provided. Apple introduced a facility called Live Notifications API to software developers.

Also, changing the traditional method used to show notifications so far, Apple has worked to create a way that notifications can be viewed below the lock screen. There, you can check the notifications as they roll and through that, they have managed to get a large amount of space on the lock screen.

New features to Messages

Apple is addressing three of the most common complaints about Messages. The new features include:

  • Edit messages
  • "Undo Send"
  • Mark As Unread

You will be able to experience the three facilities.

In addition to these new facilities, Apple has introduced many new facilities for the Dictation feature through iOS 16. Through this, the ability to compose messages easily and accurately is acquired.

To improve the ability of third-party apps to integrate with Siri, Apple introduced the App Intents API, which allows apps to easily integrate with Siri.

With iOS 16, the world-famous Live Text feature introduced by Apple has been extended to video for the first time. This feature allows you to select text from videos. A new Live Text API was also introduced to allow software developers to access Live Text features.

Improved Apple Maps

  • Las Vegas
  • London
  • Los Angeles

The multi-stop routing feature was also introduced to Apple Maps for the first time. Apple says users can plan up to 15 stops in advance. You can add additional stops to a route while driving using Siri.

Apple News

Apple's News app has been updated with a My Sports section, which allows users to follow their favorite sports teams. This includes team highlights, scores, and team standings. It also includes the ability to use it with the Apple News+ feature.

Apart from this, new facilities for the Wallet app, Home app, CarPlay, Personalized Spatial Audio, Quick Note on iPhone, and New Memoji customization were also introduced.
