WhatsApp for Android is testing the ability to pause and resume voice recording.

WhatsApp plans to add a new capability to its Voice notes feature. Following the introduction of the ability to listen to background audio recordings, Meta is now testing a voice note recording and resume option on its messaging platform.

Recording voice notes on WhatsApp is easy.
A recent report from WABetaInfo suggests that WhatsApp has added a pause/resume feature to voice notes as part of its latest Android beta version 2.22.6.7. This capability was previously introduced for the WhatsApp and desktop versions of iOS.

With this feature, you can now press the pause button in the middle to record or stop a voice note. Following this, you can resume voice recording by tapping on the mic icon in the center. Once you are happy with the end result, you can send it to the recipient.

Currently, you can only stop recording a voice note. You are not allowed to pause or resume it, but it will be provided by WhatsApp soon.

This functionality allows you to record audio simultaneously and also allows for longer recordings. There is nothing wrong with that because you can always hear what you said earlier. Plus, it will save you some time, otherwise, you can not do it.

The beta version of Android also has the ability to pause and restart voice recordings in WhatsApp Business. However, no date has been set yet for when the main version of the app will be released for all users to try. But it is safe to say that supply was low and demand was high.
